Richland County School District One hired DESA to ensure that small, minority and women-owned companies participate and successfully compete for construction contracts.  More than 50 firms have been awarded construction contracts with Richland One.

DESA:
•    Markets the program through advertising, direct mail, publication development
       (newsletters, flyers), trade fairs, and community events
•    Supports general contractors and subcontractors
•    Identifies Small, Minority, and Women Enterprise firms as prime contractors and
        subcontractors for construction projects
•    Provides technical assistance in accounting, marketing, bonding, and insurance.
•    Monitors the progress and completion of awarded subcontracts
•    Assists with resolving problems and issues on behalf of the participating businesses
