DESA Awards $500 College Scholarship

DESA, Inc. has recently awarded a $500 college scholarship to Richland County School District One and Eau Claire High School graduate, Reuben Burney. Burney graduated this spring and plans to attend the Art Institute of Charlotte in the fall. His talent was introduced to DESA through a relationship with Richland County School District One and the Columbia Housing Authority.

DESA has held contracts with Richland One in the past to provide construction management services. President and chief executive officer Diane Sumpter said, “Richland One and their Board embrace the total community experience. They value their students and are continually giving them opportunities to advance in life. Similarly, DESA holds the same values and are happy to embrace the chance to reward one of their students with a college scholarship.”

“Reuben is a gifted student with big dreams. The folks at Richland One and DESA want to see him succeed,” Sumpter concluded.
