Local Business Owner Honors Those Who Came Before Her, Celebrates Black History Month
COLUMBIA, SC (February 12, 2013) – Every February 14th, president and CEO, Diane Sumpter celebrates the anniversary of her company, DESA, Inc. This year, while celebrating DESA’s 27 years in business, Sumpter is also celebrating Black History Month by paying tribute to several South Carolinians who paved the way for her company and other minority-owned firms.

On November 13th, DESA's President and CEO, Diane Sumpter, was honored with the March of Dimes African-American Achievement Award for her work in raising awareness of health disparities in South Carolina.

Information on the SCDOR Security Breach
The Governor’s Office, S.C. Department of Revenue, and law enforcement officials announced last week that approximately 3.6 million Social Security numbers and 387,000 credit and debit card numbers have been exposed in a cyber-attack. If you’ve filed a SC tax return since 1998, you most likely have been affected, and you are being urged to take these steps as soon as possible.
